The Sichuanese sure know how to chill out!
Give them a breezy space, a cup of tea, something good to eat and a long afternoon, and they’re happy. In Sichuan, teahouses are less about ceremony than catching up, snacking, chatting, playing games, getting ears cleaned, and generally kicking back.
There’s even a great Sichuan expression for it: bǎi lóngménzhèn – roughly, shooting the breeze. What could be better?
So we’re bringing that vibe to Eden Noodles in Morningside for a Sichuan High Tea, with Chinese tea and a spread of sweet and savoury Sichuan goodies created especially for the afternoon.
It's hosted by Sichuan obsessives Leanne Kitchen from Elsewhere & Beyond and Antony Suvalko from the LSC, and they’ll be on hand to chat and answer questions. No long formal talk; just good food, good tea and plenty of opportunity for a bit of bǎi lóngménzhèn. Come and join us!
